Meet our Pastor
My name is Fr. Federico Castillo Gonzalez, I was born in Mexico City in 1977, and I attended both elementary and high school there. I started serving God for some time in my former parish’s youth ministry program. I met the Piarist Fathers in 2004. After a time of discernment, in 2005 I started the seminary in the city of Celaya Guanajuato, Mexico. I later began my studies in philosophy in the city of Mexicali and then continued my studies in Theology in the city of Tijuana, Mexico where I graduated and received my degree in Religious Studies. In 2010, I lived in the city of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic for a year. This experience helped me reaffirm my vocation and in 2014 I made my solemn vows. In 2016 by the hands of Bishop Alexander Salazar, I was ordained a deacon. Finally, in 2017 I had my priestly ordination in the city of Los Angeles in the parish of Saint Lucy’s by the same bishop. My first obedience was at the HOCATI home in Tijuana, Mexico and I worked there for a year and a half. Later I was asked to move to the city of Los Angeles to accompany the parish priests in their pastoral work. I just finished my 5th year as associate pastor at our Our Lady Help of Christians parish and in 2023, I became pastor of Santa Teresita Parish in Boyle Heights.
